Original SB163 English Official Language bill by Rep Randy Terrill killed by…

24 Senate Democrats  +  Senator Harry Coates

If you have a Democrat Senator in your district – He voted against YOUR will.  Kick him out of office in November.      These arrogant Senators should not be sitting in our State House and dispensing taxpayer money any longer.  They just told us THEY know better what is good for us than WE know.    

Repeated phone calls told them your position on this bill, yet these arrogant Senators continue to vote THEIR own will, NOT YOURS.  They vote for  special interest groups, lobbyist, and unethical practices.   Time to replace them at the polls.

The 25 Senators now put into motion their intended deceit by telling their constituents that they voted for the English Bill - as they smile and ask for your vote in June.   There was never an up or down vote on the Senate Floor for SB163 on Wednesday.  NEVER!

SO DON’T BELIEVE A WORD OF IT!     They intend to distort the truth as they solicit your vote at the BBQ’s, Rotary, Lions Club and County Town meetings.   Kick ALL of them out of office.

THE REAL TRUTH:     They voted yes on a supplemental amendment placed on SB163 by Senator Mike Morgan (lame duck) to neutralize Rep Randy Terrill’s original SB163 English Bill making the bill coming from the house non-effective.    (25-23)      The full Senate (48) if forced to vote on this gutted legislation will be voting YES on this Sham legislation labeled as SB163.   Even the vote of the people in July will be for T H I S  Sham Legislation should it come out of Committee.  

What trickery and deceit – they seek to deceive their constituents and are hoping to fool enough voters to get back into office.        

This sham bill the Democrats produced is much like declaring July 2^nd as Watermelon Day.  Whoever wants to,  can observe it - so whoever wants to, can observe English – nothing binding – the  status quo continues and YOU the taxpayer will continue to pay for 2-3 interpreters in classrooms, booklets and instructions printed in up to 119 languages if the non-citizen desires it.

These Senators see nothing wrong with spending money this way!    So forget your roads and bridges – 25 senators intend to provide literature in 119 languages if it is desired!

Time for them to pay for their treachery at the polls

Determine that you will NOT give them a paycheck while they give you “the shaft”

These 12 Senators are up for re-election in November – VOTE ALL OF THEM OUT.     The other 13 Senators will be voted out in 2010.

Commentary

THE REAL TRUTH:     IRON took an English Official language bill to Representative Terrill two years ago because he was the only leader there who I felt would hear the people, represent the people, and vote the will of the people regardless of the cost.    He has proven me right!

I hear many Legislators saying “Randy Terrill’s bill,”  no folks, this bill is for citizens who want to save interpreter expenses that have soared over the past 5 years creating an industry ($65 - $85 an hour for EACH interpreter).   I have also heard Senators say on the Senate floor that Randy Terrill seeks higher office, that’s why he is listening to citizens.

Good Grief – what a really stupid statement, it appears that the 12 Senators would fall all over themselves to do what their own constituents are asking them to do.   It is evident they do not even value their own re-election.  Then neither should you.

As far as Senator Anderson goes:

The Tulsa World still can’t get facts straight before they go to print.  The editor states that robocalls were generated which caused the conflict between Rep Terrill and Sen. Anderson.  The calls were robocalls generated by U.S. English to their membership to encourage constituent calls to their own Senator.  The calls from Senator Anderson’s own constituents were not important enough for him to answer.  He got ‘ticked off’ because his own constituents were asking him to vote FOR the English language bill.  That is why he forwarded his phone to Rep Terrill, so Rep Terrill’s office would get a flood of calls wanting the English bill.

ENID AREA, District 19, this same Senator will be all smiles and promises as he asked for your vote and your money so he can be elected in November. 

People in the Enid area should be busy replacing him with a good candidate who believes they are sent to the Oklahoma Legislature to represent voters in that district.    What a novel idea, Senators voting the way the voters in their districts want them to.      Senator Anderson has his ear to the lobby groups of the oilfield companies.   VOTE HIM OUT IN NOVEMBER!

As far as Representative Terrill’s running for higher office:

Make no mistake – IRON will support Representative Terrill for any office he chooses to run for.    I only hope that more patriots are born and exercise their courage to vote what the people want of them instead of cowardly actions motivated by fear of lobby groups who buy their votes.     CAROL
